Resource Requirements
Duties:
Develop, support and implement proactive, strategic and integrated communications pertaining to the MD THINK initiative.
Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to develop messages and with other communicators and MD THINK staff to ensure consistent implementation across the State.
Work under the supervision of the Communications Director and with the agency’s Communications team in order to leverage best practices.
Develop content for use with employees, customers, reporters, elected officials, stakeholders, and other audiences.
Use metrics, data and feedback to continuously improve employee experience.
Develop a wide range of communication deliverables, including but not limited to newsletters, emails, intranet posts, speeches and remarks, key messaging and talking points, collateral materials, video scripts, and presentations.
Identify communication needs and gaps and implement strategies to quickly address them.
Effectively manage multiple deadlines.
Translate information into meaningful insights for sharing with end users and stakeholders.
Maintain a calendar for executing recurring communications.
Ensure an effective balance between communications for end users, executive stakeholders, and the general public, by getting the right information to the right groups in a timely fashion.
Provide counsel to the Communications Director and support critical internal and external engagement activities.
Educational Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
Experience:
At least four (4) years of relevant communications experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including line editing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to vary writing style to meet needs.
Proficient at taking complex, technical information and presenting it in plain language, clearly and effectively reach all targeted audiences.
Proven ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
Proficient with MS Office, WordPress, Adobe and other authoring/publishing tools.
Proficient with Google Drive and Google Enterprise products such as Doc, Sheet, and Slides.
Flexibility and willingness to efficiently adapt to new circumstances or outcomes.
Good understanding of digital platforms and social media trends, tools and platforms.
Familiarity with IT modernization and/or health and human services programs is a plus.
